May 8, 1926 -- July 9, 2004

Harley Fredrick Hupp was born May 8, 1926 at the Hupp Family Farm in Cass Township, Hamilton County, IA and died July 9, 2004 in Webster City, IA. He attended rural schools and Webster City High School and served with the U.S. Army in the 27th Division, the 77th Division, and the 1st Cavalry in the South Pacific and Japan during World War II. He married Beverly Joan Calkins of Webster City, IA, on June 28, 1948 in Waterloo, IA. He farmed in Cass Township and was a truck driver for many years until his retirement in 1988. He also worked part-time as a driver for several companies and as a volunteer for the RSVP. He was active in the Asbury United Methodist Church and served on the County Extension Council and as a 4-H leader. He was a member of the North Central Iowa Antique Tractor Club and the American Legion Post #191 in Webster City.

In addition to his wife, he was survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Michele Hupp of Webster City; his daughter, Jacalyn Hupp of Manhattan Beach, CA; two granddaughters, Leslee and Hayley Hupp of Webster City; his sister Ardys Boston of Nevada, IA; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and John Peters of Macon, MO; his brother-in-law, Robert Worley of San Antonio, TX; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ruth Hemminger Hupp of Webster City; his sister, Nadine Wadsworth of Des Moines, IA; and his sister, Martha Worley of San Antonio, TX. Burial in Cass Center Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa.
