Mildred Jeanette Kinseth was born on Aug. 7, 1906, in rural Bode, Iowa, to Christian and Baeta (Olson) Kinseth. She died Monday (March 23, 1998) at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City of complications of age. She received her education at Bode High School, graduating in 1923. She later graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City. She taught public school in Melvin, Iowa, and later in Marble Rock where she met Walter F. Bohl. They were married on June 11, 1935, at her parents’ home in Bode. They made their home in Belmond, Iowa, and to this union were born twin daughters. In 1939, the family moved to Marble Rock. She prepared income tax returns for people in her home in the Marble Rock area for many years. She was a charter member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marble Rock and church treasurer for many years. She also was active in the church circle. She was a member of the Bridge Club and Senior Citizens. Mildred was gifted with a talent for singing which she enjoyed doing, but most of all, she enjoyed living for her daughters and their families.

Living family members include her two daughters, Marilyn Bohl, of Alameda, Calif., and Arline and her husband, C.J. "Mike" Walter, of Long Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Lance, of San Francisco, Calif., and Angela Walter, of Chicago, Ill.; and one sister, Agnes Roberts, of Belmond. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 6, 1984; parents; seven sisters, Laura Enger, Maunda Mitszen, Cora Parsons, Mina Kinseth, Ruth Dougherty, Hilda Selvik, Othelia Pederson; and twin brothers, Edwin and Emil Kinseth; and brother, Theodore Kinseth. Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Mildred J. Bohl Memorial Fund at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marble Rock.
