Millard W. Tatham, 57, long time resident of Webster City died Thursday afternoon [May 5, 1954] at 2:30 in the Veteran's hospital in Des Moines. He had been ill the past five months. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Monday [May 31, 1954] at the McCauley-Chapman funeral home with the Rev. S.T. Lenters officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Millard W. Tatham, son of Sheldon and Agnes Tatham, was born at Woolstock, Iowa, Jan. 31, 1897. He moved to Webster City when he was eight years old, and had lived in this community ever since. He was married Nov. 30, 1930 to Gladys Fisher. They were the parents of one daughter, Phyllis. A veteran of World War I, he served with the famed Rainbow division and was a member of the American Legion in Webster City.

Besides his wife and daughter, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. A.E. Rasmussen, Mrs. Fred Ryan and Mrs. Howard McKee, all of Webster City, and one brother, Frank Tatham of LaCrosse, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. A.H. Rice.

For the past several years he had been employed as a plumber by the Whaley Plumbing Co. in this city, and prior to that was employed at Beam Mfg. Co. Mr. Tatham was always intensely interested in sports, playing with one of Webster City's leading baseball teams during his youth. He officiated at many baseball and softball games in recent years. He was active with the American Legion and had made many close friends during his long residence here.
