MASON CITY, IA — Dorothy T. Kolpek, 90, of Silver Lake, Minn., formerly of Mason City, died Wednesday (Dec. 12, 2007) at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minn. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City, with the Rev. Keith L. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Mason City. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Saturday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Funeral Chapel.

Dorothy was born at Elberon, Iowa on July 19, 1917, the daughter of Charles J. and Anna J. (Chizek) Klunder. On June 21, 1936, Dorothy T. Klunder and Charles Kolpek were joined in holy marriage in Toledo, Iowa. God blessed their marriage with three sons. Mr. and Mrs. Kolpek moved to Minnesota from Iowa in 1941. She was formerly employed at Tonka Toys in Mound, Minn. Dorothy enjoyed crocheting and making afghans. For many years, she baked wedding cakes for area families. She belonged to The Degree of Honor Lodge No. 69 in Fairmont, Minn.

Survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Charles “Charlie” Kolpek, of Silver Lake, Minn.; sons: Jerry (Jo) Kolpek of Bella Vista, Ark., Larry (Jeannie) Kolpek, of Mason City, and Lanny (Carol) Kolpek of Minong, Wis.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister: Charlene Wedmore, of Gilbert, Ariz.; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Anna Klunder; two brothers: Ralph and Frank, and two sisters: Marjorie and Josephine. Additional visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 14, at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, Minn. Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel.
