MR. BROUGHTON DIED SUNDAY
Funeral to Be Wednesday Afternoon

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home for William Broughton, 77, long-time resident of this community who died early Sunday morning at the hospital. The Rev. Dow Crewdson will officiate with burial in Cass Center Cemetery. Mr. Broughton had been a patient at the hospital only a few days.

The son of Perry and Kathryn Broughton, he was born on Feb. 18, 1869, at Mount Pulaski, Ill. As a young man he came to Webster City, where he has since lived, being employed for many years in farm work in Hamilton and Webster counties. Since his retirement several years ago, he had made his home at the St. James hotel. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers, and is survived by one brother, John C. Broughton, of Lincoln, Ill. a sister-in-law, Mrs. Almira Broughton of Webster City and a number of nieces and nephews.
