HAMPTON, IA--Eugine Agnes Mullen, 86, of 105 First Ave. S.W., Hampton, died Saturday (Sept. 6, 1997) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Rockwell, with the Rev. Ronald Bolinger officiating. Interment will be in the Rockwell Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 3 p.m. today at Fullerton Patterson James Funeral Chapel, 120 Third St. S., Rockwell. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Eugine A. Mullen Memorial Fund.
Eugine was born on April 16, 1911, the daughter of Charlie and Anna (Groth) Haag in Fonda. The family later moved to Ostrander, Minn., where she attended school. She was baptized and confirmed at the Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams, Minn., on June 8, 1930. She lived in Taopi, Minn., and Rockford, before moving to Rockwell in about 1940. During her working career, she served as a cook at the nursing home and then as a school cook at the Rockwell school system, retiring in 1962. For the past 18 months, she has been a resident of the Heritage Place in Hampton.
Eugine is survived by her three daughters, June Kidgell, Sunnyvale, Calif.; Beulah Mae and her husband, Robert Curley, Rockwell; and Jo Ann and her husband, Wendell Miller, Hampton; one sister, Maude Pruisman, Kanawha; one brother, Carl and his wife, Marge Haag, Austin, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Jo Ann Haag, Ackley, Minn.; 10 grandchildren, David Kidgell, Debra Fowler, Pamela McLean, Jacalyn Hartwigsen, Julie Hanawalt, Michele Schleiger, Lori Miller, Sandra Harrington, Kim Miller and Kurt Miller, along with her 12 great-grandchildren, Carrie, Samantha, Buddy, Tiffany, Michael, Kathryn, Abigail, Eleanor, Jordyn, Justin, Kayla and Kyle; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Anna Marie, Emma, Christine and Elizabeth; and four brothers, Herbert, Eddie, Herman and Gottlieb.
