March 1, 1996FOUNTAIN, Florida--Harry I. Thompson, 106, of 11605 Ivydell St., and formerly of Britt, Iowa, died Wednesday (Feb. 28, 1996) at a hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Dr. Roland Schutz officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Thursday evening at the Smith-Southerland Funeral Home, Panama City, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in memory of Mr. Thompson.
Harry I. Thompson was born in Clinton, Ill., later moving to Florida from Britt in the mid-1950s. Mr. Thompson was a self-employed farmer and carpenter, a member of the Fountain Fire Department and was Lutheran by faith.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Thompson and his wife, Chris, of Fountain, Fla., and Leavenworth, Kan.; one daughter, Ruby Nuehring and her husband, Eugene, of Little Falls, Minn.; 12 grandchildren, Randy Thompson, Vicki Mapes, Rita Higgins, Karen Pauley, Joyce Heffron, Dennis Neuhring, Carol Stock, Donna Maiden, Rita Rogers, Linda Davis, Becky McManus and Walter Thompson Jr.; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Lester and Walter Thompson.
