February 25, 1996KLEMME, Iowa -- Erwin G. Nuehring, 79, of Palmetto, Fla., formerly of Klemme, died Friday (Feb. 23, 1996) at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Brandenton, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ, Klemme, with the Rev. Georgia White-Kisslring officiating. Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme.
Erwin G. Nuehring, the son of Fred August and Alma Hanna (Born) Nuehring, was born July 7, 1916, at home in Twin Lake Township, Hancock County. He was united in marriage to Marie Meinders on Sept. 8, 1937. They farmed in the Klemme area until retiring and moving to Palmetto, Fla., in 1981. While in Klemme, he was a deacon in the church, director of the school board, and was instrumental in building the current Sunday school unit to the church.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Nuehring of Palmetto, Fla.; a son, Eldon G. Nuehring, Jasper, Fla.; two daughters, Marcella M. Sharp, Marion, and Karen K. Dahlin, Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, Harriet Hanson, Nadine Meyer, Julie Dahlin, Joyce Dahlin, Eldon Nuehring Jr. and Elizabeth Nuehring; two great-grandchildren, Amber and Andrea Meyer; one brother, Harlan Nuehring, Mason City; and one sister, Charlotte Ring, Mason City. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harvey, Clarence and Earl; a granddaughter, Debbie Meyer; and two sons-in-law.
