Ruby Nuehring, 89, a resident of Little Falls, Minnesota died March 11, 2010, at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls. Funeral services were held Monday at the Little Falls Alliance Church with the Rev. Nate Bjorge officiating. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery in Little Falls.

Ruby was born July 4, 1920, to the late Harry and Mary Thompson in Britt, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Eugene Nuehring Nov. 28, 1940, (Thanksgiving Day) in Britt. Ruby taught country school for grades one - eight prior to her marriage. Ruby then became a homemaker, working on the farm with her husband Gene and later working with Gene as a bookkeeper at their downtown Shell Station. She also drove bus with her husband Gene for handicapped children in the area. Ruby was an avid quilter and seamstress. She also enjoyed and was very good at growing beautiful gardens. Ruby resided at Pine Grove Manor with her husband for several years and after his death moved to Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Little Falls. Her faith was always very important to her as well as being actively involved in the church. Ruby's greatest joy was taking care of and supporting her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ruby was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Ruby is survived by son Dennis (Marie) Nuehring of Little Falls; daughters Karen (Robert) Pauly of Panama City, Fla. and Joyce (Loren) Heffron of Little Falls; brother Kenneth (Chris) Thompson of Fountain, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Nuehring; parents Harry and Mary Thompson; brothers Walter and Lester Thompson; and sister-in-law Bernice. Shelley Funeral Chapels.
