March 3, 1966Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Thompson, 72, former Clarion resident, were held Wednesday at the Eyler Funeral home with Rev. McMichaels of the Cedar Rapids St. Paul Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Clarion. Rose Pletcher was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Pletcher. She was born and raised in the Clarion area. She married Clarence Scott and had two children, Ray Scott and Margaret, now Mrs. Robert Glass. After her first husband's death she married Henry Thompson, who ran a Heating and Tin Shop in Clarion for many years. By this marriage there were three children; Richard, Earl and Becky (Mrs. Jack Eggleston). The family moved to Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Thompson died Monday in a Cedar Rapids hospital. She is survived by her husband, Henry, her sons, Ray Scott, Minneapolis, Minn., Richard Thompson, Me. Vernon, Iowa; Earl Thompson of Cedar Rapids and her daughters, Mrs. Robert Glass, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Jack Eggleston of Cedar Rapids; eleven grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and in laws.
