Earl Pletcher, 56, of Polk City, former Clarion resident, was killed instantly Wednesday when a bottle-gas heater exploded while he was assisting a neighbor, George H. Young two miles north of Polk City....Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Bruhl of Eagle Grove; a son, Ronnie; three daughters, Donna, Polk City; Mrs. Dick Bowman and Mrs. Audrey Knutson of Ft. Dodge; four brothers, W. E. and Bert Pletcher of Clarion; Amos of Eagle Grove and Edwards, Manson; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Thompson, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Earl Shillington of Latimer; seven grandchildren.
