WEBSTER CITY, IA - Janice A. Payne, 64, of Webster City, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Fosters Chapel with Pastor Tim Olson officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Janice Avon Staley, daughter of James and Alma Bailey Staley, was born October 27, 1945 at Webster City. She received her education in the Webster City school system. She attended A.I.B. in Des Moines for two years and a had advanced secretarial training. On January 17, 1971, she married James Payne at Eagle Grove, they were later divorced. She started employment with the Department of Human Services in 1979, at Fort Dodge. In 2007, she retired.

Janice is survived by a son, Stephen Payne of Webster City; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judith and Deanne Haack of Eugene, OR; Janey Dunn of Williams; Jolene and Curtis Dammen of Shelly, MN; Juanita Staley of Omaha, NE; Jone and Miles Golly of Ankeny; Joyce and John Mischel of Ankeny; brother and sisters-in-law, Gloria Faiferlick of Eagle Grove; Jerry and Pam Staley of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Andrew Staley.
