Mrs. McDermott Funeral Monday

The funeral of Mrs. Mary McDermott was held Monday morning to the Sacred Heart church conducted by her grandson, Father McDermott of Kansas City, and Father Nolan. Interment was made in the Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Mary McDermott was born September 3, 1830 in Kilkenney County, Ireland and died at the home of her son, A. J. McDermott in Iroquois, S.D. April 23, 1924. The remains were brought to Eagle Grove Saturday evening and taken to the home of Mrs. Jane Hughes, mother of Mrs. A. J. McDermott. Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Church Monday morning at nine o'clock. Requiem high Mass was celebrated by her grandson, Father Terrence McDermott of Kansas City, Mo. assisted by Rev. Father T. Nolan. Her six sons acted as pall bearers. She was the mother of 11 children, six sons living and her husband, two daughters and three sons have been dead for several years. She has several grandchildren.
