Harold E. Geiger, 88, of 310 Upland Drive, Waterloo, Iowa died Friday, September 16, 1994 at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes. He was born January 14, 1906, in Harrison Township, son of Albert E. and Bertha E. Epperson Geiger. He married Ruth Akins on March 4, 1926, in Eagle Grove. They were later divorced. He married Harriet Nissen on September 14, 1948, in Lancaster, Mo. She died March 1, 1982. Mr. Geiger worked at Rath Packing Co. for a number of years, retiring in 1958. He is survived by three sons, Don E. of Sheffield, IL, Duane H. of Hutchison, KS and Gary G. of Wapello; two daughters, JoVonne Volker of New Hampton and Delora Miller of Waterloo; a stepson, Marvin Nissen of Waterloo; two step-daughters, Shirley Parson and Donna Hartley, both of Waterloo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Kitzman of Bountiful, UT. He was preceded in death by two sons, James and Bennie; a daughter, Gerry Coleman; three grandchildren; four brothers, Elmer, James, Vergil and Melvin; and three sister, Ruth Duncan, Irene Scott, and Veta Clark. Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Memories-West Funeral Home, with burial in garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials are directed to the family.
