R. C. Fawcett Services Sept. 20

Funeral services for R. C. Fawcett, 78, were held Wed., Sept. 20, 1965. Roscoe C. (Spick) Fawcett, retired railroad engineer, formerly of Clarion, passed away at his home in Buffalo, Mo., September 20, 1965 at the age of 78 years, 10 months, 13 days. Born at Rose Hill, Illinois, November 7, 1886 he was the son of John and Emma Fawcett. He had three sisters and one brother, all of whom have preceded him in death. The family moved from Illinois to a farm near Woolstock, where he received his education in the Woolstock schools and grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Harriet Bromily Jan. 1, 1907. To this union were born three children. Alma (Mrs. C. W. Lesher), John A., and Margaret (Mrs. F. O. Coughennower). He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet in October, 1950. He was remarried in April 1951 to Mary Strange. In 1954 he retired from the C. G. W. R.R. with over 30 years service and moved to Buffalo, Mo., the same year. He leaves to mourn his wife, Mary; his three children, 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives. Interment was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery at Buffalo, Mo. Clarion people who attended the funeral services were Mrs. C. W. Lesher, Art Fawcett, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Bowers and Marlene Good.
