Mrs. J. Tedrow Dies at Age of 75

Mrs. Jennie Tedrow died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Skafte early Thursday morning. Mrs. Tedrow became seriously ill the last of April and was a patient at a Ft Dodge hospital for a short time after which she was able to return home when she showed signs of improvement. Since that time she was bedfast and her death was the result of a heart ailment from which she had suffered for many years. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Saturday afternoon with Rev. Don Eagle in charge. Burial was in the family lot in the Glenwood cemetery.

Jane Reid, daughter of Samuel and Mary Reid, was born May 10, 1876, near Traer. While she was a small child the family moved to a farm north of Goldfield where they lived a number of years. On January 10, 1900, she was united in marriage to George M. Tedrow. To this union three children were born: Vivian, of Goldfield, Thelma who died in infancy, and Lenore now of Detroit, Mich. Mrs. Tedrow lived most of her life in this community, serving as a telephone operator for many years, until failing health caused her retirement. She made her home in Goldfield with her daughter, Vivian until her death June 14, 1951, at the age of 75 years.

She was a long time member of the Church of Christ. The church was her greatest interest, other than her family to which she was a devoted mother. In her many years of service with the telephone company and in her activities, Mrs. Tedrow made many friends who will long remember her kindly nature and pleasant disposition. She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Mrs. Tedrow was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Tom and Mack Reid. She is survived by her two daughters: Mrs. L. B. Skafte of Goldfield and Mrs. J. N. Houston of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs J. A. Matheson of Goldfield and Mrs. C. B. Martin of Torrance, Calif. She is also survived by two granddaughters. Relatives who attended the services from out of town were M. J. N. Houston of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Clint Woodward of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Moseley of Ft Dodge and Mrs. F. C. Moseley of
Rolfe.

CARD OF THANKS—For the untold number of acts of kindness shown us during the illness and death of our mother, we wish to express our sincere thanks.—Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Skafte, Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Houston
