John Robert McCarty - Peacefully passed on April 1, 2010 due to complications of cancer at the age of 80 in Sacramento. John is survived by wife Jerry Ann, daughters Kelly Desmarais and Patti (Trish) Roath, stepdaughters Carla Baggett and Tammy Morgan, as well as numerous grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Betty Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Elsie McCarty, and his stepdaughter Virginia (Ginger) Woodstra. John was born on October 25, 1929 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He moved to Needles, CA where he graduated from high school, and then to Sacramento in his early 20's, where he spent the remainder of his life. At his request, no services were held. His remains were buried at Fair Oaks Cemetery. The family requests donations in John's memory be directed to your charity of choice.
