EAGLE GROVE - Frank Copp passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, at the age of 90 years. Visitation will be held Monday, April 19th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Survivors include his wife, Betty Copp of Eagle Grove; daughter, Doris Smith of Eagle Grove; son, Bill Hill of Eagle Grove; daughter, Connie Hill of Eagle Grove; son, Barry Copp of Storm Lake; son, Lynn Copp and wife Susan of Iowa Falls; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lois Gardner of Marion and Bev Aichele and husband Loyd of Hermiston, Ore.; and a brother, James Copp and wife Lorraine of Clarinda. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Franklin “Ace” Copp – Eagle Grove
Franklin Russell Copp, the son of John Franklin and Mary Margaret (Johnson) Copp, was born October 12, 1919, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1938. Frank entered the United States Army Air Force on December 11, 1941, serving as an airplane and engine mechanic during W.W.II, stationed in Europe, until his honorable discharge on October 11, 1945. On February 10, 1945, Frank was united in marriage with Joyce Clara Wilkerson in Norwich, England. The couple made their home the United States following Frank’s discharge from the military, then returned to Norwich from 1949 until 1953, where Frank worked for Caley's chocolate factory. Joyce preceded him in death on May 30, 1978. On June 14, 1984, Frank married Betty Lou (Christopher) Hill in Pendleton, Oregon. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove. Frank worked for Boone Valley Cooperative for 28 years, retiring in 1981. Frank was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, bird watching, golf, baseball and harness racing.Frank passed away Thursday, April 15 2010, at the Wright Medical Center in Clarion, at the age of 90 years. He was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Clovis Copp; his parents; sister, Elnora Sartore and brother, Alvin Copp. Survivors include his wife, Betty Copp of Eagle Grove; daughter, Doris Smith of Eagle Grove; son, Bill Hill of Eagle Grove, daughter, Connie Hill of Eagle Grove; son, Barry Copp of Storm Lake; son, Lynn Copp and wife Susan of Iowa Falls; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lois Gardner of Marion and Bev Aichele and husband Loyd of Hermiston, OR and a brother, James Copp and wife Lorraine of Clarinda.
Visitation will be Monday, April 19th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will take place at a later date in St Faith Garden of Remembrance, Norwich, England. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
