EASTON, Missouri -- Guy Leland Batcheller, 74, Easton, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at a Leavenworth, Kan., hospital. Mr. Batcheller worked for Continental Food Service as a purchasing agent for 25 years. He also served in the Army during World War II. Born Nov. 18, 1924, in Woolstock, Iowa, he lived most of his life in Colorado. He later moved to Ava, Mo., before moving to Easton in 1989. Mr. Batcheller was a member of the Baptist faith. On Feb. 21, 1943, he married Nina H. Hedrick. She survives of the home. Mr. Batcheller was preceded in death by his parents, Guy W. and Georgia M.; two brothers, Glen and Kenneth; and a sister, Alberta Pappas. Additional survivors: two sons, Guy W., Denver, and Clinton D., Robinson, Ill.; two daughters, Vicky L. Macrander, Easton, and Rada R. Romero, Lakewood, Colo.; three brothers, Lester E., Bellingham, Wash., Merlin L., Littleton, Colo., and Vernon E., Webster City, Iowa; a sister, Bertha Grady, Webster City; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The body has been cremated. There are no scheduled services nor visitations. Inurnment: Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to Disabled American Veterans Association. Arrangements: Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph.
