A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT AT WOOLSTOCK
Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. Claire Cateau Dies as Result of Burns

The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Claire Cateau of Woolstock died Wednesday as the result of burns received by over turning a lighted lamp. The little fellow, who was but little more than a year old, suffered intense agony all day Tuesday and in spite of all that medical skill could do, passed away at an early hour Wednesday morning. The sad accident happened Tuesday evening at the Cateau home. Mr. and Mrs. Cateau reside with the former's parents. The child's mother was sick in bed in an upper chamber and the little one was down stairs with its grandmother and was playing on the floor. During the grandmother's absence from the house for a few minutes, the little one in some manner pulled a large lamp from off the center table. The child's hair and clothing caught on fire and he was fatally burned before help arrived. The sick mother up stairs, hearing the child's cries, got up out of bed and rushed down stairs. She smothered the flames by wrapping the little one in a blanket, but the fire had burned deep and the little constitution could not stand the shock. The parents are prostrated with grief over the awful accident.
