Ella Matilda Arnold, daughter of Fred and Mary Arnold, was born near Farmersburg, Iowa, in Clayton County, on March 21, 1877. She moved with her parents to Klemme, Iowa, in 1895. On December 17, 1992, she was united in marriage to James Schneider of Monona, Iowa. They began housekeeping on the Schneider home farm, where they lived for seven years. Later they purchased a farm near Goodell, Iowa, where they lived continuously for 33 years, with the exception of six years spent in Twin Falls, Idaho for reasons of health. She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Goodell and continued her membership there up to the time of her passing, She was a patient sufferer for many years and spent the last eleven weeks in Mercy Hospital, Mason City, Iowa. On Sunday morning, July 7, 1957, she quietly passed to her reward. She leaves of her immediate family one sister, Amanda (Mrs. C. B. Tice) of Mason City, and one brother, Elmer Arnold, of Klemme. Interment will be in the Amsterdam Cemetery beside her husband, James, who passed away fifteen years ago.
