Minnie Anna Dye, dau. of Andrew & Mary J. Dye, was born in Blackhawk Co., IA, Mar. 2, 1871 & departed this life on the evening of Dec. 4, 1896, at the age of 25 yrs., 9 mos. & 2 ds. Early in life her parents settled on a farm near West Union, where she spent the most of her life. Oct. 24, 1895, she was joined in marriage to Mr. J. B. Clark of Goodell, IA, at which place she spent the last yr. of her life. At the age of 12 Yrs., under the labors of Rev. W.H. Kaufman, she was converted to God & identified herself with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ in West Union, where she worshiped & labored until last March, when she, with her companion, joined the First U. B. Church of Goodell, IA. She was a very exemplary Christian, possessed of a kind disposition. She largely possessed the passive virtues of Christianity, namely, humility, patience, gentleness. One of her leading traits of character was that of thoughtfulness. No interest entrusted to her care was likely to be passed by without attention. She was always thoughtful for the comfort & happiness of others. She had many friends who cherish the hope of meeting her again in that unchangeable home where no sorrow,or sickness,or death ever comes, where no storms ever beat & the surges cease to roll. The funeral services were held from the U. B. Church Sun at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Proffitt preached a most excellent & appropiate discourse from John 9,6 to a very lg. audience of sympathizing friends & neighbors.
