19 April 1886 -- 9 June 1982

Amy M. Boss was born in Boscobel, Wisconsin, April 19, 1886. She was orphaned as a child and came to Avoca, Iowa, with a sister and her husband. She was married to William Boss on February 7, 1906 in Avoca. The couple farmed near Mondamin, Menlo and Williams, Iowa before retiring to Garner in 1950. Mr. Boss died in 1960. Mrs. Boss lived in her own home as long as she was able, then resided at Prairie View Apartments. Due to her failing health, she entered Concord Manor Nursing Home in November, 1978. She died there on Wednesday, June 9th, at the age of 96 years.

She is survived by her son, Dale and his wife, Shirley, of LaMesa, California, her son-in-law, Paul Henderson, of Garner, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Opal Henderson on February 11, 1977, a brother, Alfred Anderson and two sisters, Mary Allen and Cora Hilton.
