Mrs. Carrie Wood Rites Saturday In Breckenridge
Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Wood, longtime resident of Breckenridge [Minnesota] who died Wednesday at St. Francis hospital, will be held Saturday at two o'clock from Breckenridge Methodist church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at Jos. Vertin & Sons Funeral home from 3 p.m., Friday.
Born at Heitsville, Iowa, Nov. 29, 1871 she spent her early life on a farm there. In 1894 she was married to Geo. Manley and they lived in Galt, Iowa. He died in 1897 and she came to Everdell, Minn., in 1900. She married Frank Wood in 1900 and they farmed near Breckenridge until his death in 1927. She continued to make her home on the farm with her son, John, until 1947 when she moved to Breckenridge. She was a member of Breckenridge Methodist church.
She is survived by the following children: Rhuama, Mrs. John Southerton, of Karrick, Minn.; Effie, Mrs. Carl Zarling, Breckenridge; Oscar and John Wood, Breckenridge; Basil Wood, Baldwin, N.D., and Russell Wood, Seattle, Wash.; Hazel, Mrs. Les Goodejohn, Breckenridge and Abbie, Mrs. Ray Botz, Sauk Center, Minn. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters.
