Mrs. George C. Wall, 59, the former Miss Leona Grupe, died Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. at the home of her mother, Mrs. Otto H. Grupe on Lamar Road, Paris, Rt. 2. She had been ill the past year. Mrs. Wall, wife of a retired restaurant operator here, was employed for a number of years by Paris sporting goods stores, having been with the Williams firm 18 years before her health failed. The funeral, Thursday at 11 a.m., will be held in Fry and Gibbs chapel by the Rev. C. G. Forthman of First Presbyterian Church where Mrs. Wall was a member, and the Rev. Karl Ernst, Richardson. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Besides her husband and her mother, Mrs. Wall leaves two children: Mrs. James C. Stuteville, Richardson, and George C. Wall Jr., Tyler; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. John McCormick, Prairie Village, Kan., and a brother, Dr. H. E. Grupe, Portland, Oregon. Daughter of the late Otto H. Grupe and the former Bessie Montgomery, Mrs. Wall was born at Popejoy, Iowa, 13 Jun 1906. She attended school in Siloam Springs, Ark., and in Paris, the family coming here when she was about nine years old. She was active in the Presbyterian Church, being a member of the women's Sunday school class and the women's circle. She and Mr. Wall were married in Hugo, Okla. 28 Jul 1922.
