Latimer, Iowa --Kenneth (Kenny) D. Dreyer, age 82, of Latimer, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth Dreyer will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday January 25, 2010 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Hampton. Father Bernie Grady will officiate. Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post Hanson- Have of Latimer. Visitation for Kenny Dreyer will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday January 24, 2010 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 320 East Street in Latimer and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Kenny Dreyer's name.

Kenneth Delos, the son of Martin and Hedvig Rogers Dreyer was born on August 21, 1927 in Hampton, Iowa. He grew up in north Iowa and graduated from Chapin High School. Kenny served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict. Kenny was united in marriage to Betty on February 22, 1955 in Goodell, Iowa. The couple made their home in Latimer, where they were blessed with two sons, Jerry and Jeff. Kenny owned and operated Dreyer Portable Milling and Feeds and Latimer Grain, Inc. A grand citizen of Latimer, Kenny was very involved with the community. He belonged to the Hanson-Have American Legion, served on Latimer City Council and was a member of the Iowa Limousin Cattle Association. Kenny always supported 4-H, FFA and many other agricultural organizations. His greatest pride, though, was Kenny's 41 years of service on the Latimer Fire Department, retiring in 1996. Kenny was a member of the St Patricks Catholic Church in Hampton.

Kenny is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Betty; sons, Jerry and wife Sharon of Overland Park, KS: Jeff and wife, Sandy of Windsor Heights; four grandchildren, Juliana: Mikayla: Jaida: Tyson; three sisters, Mardella Grandt of Latimer: Arlene Christman of Yuma, AZ: Karen Omari of Omaha, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and a wonderful extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, Casper Grandt : Joe Christman; nephew, Kenneth (Bud) Grandt; and nieces, Diane Grandt and Rita Bettinger.
