Robert M. McNamara Jr., 57, of Meservey, IA died Thursday, June 21, 2007 in a motor vehicle accident. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Avenue with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Robert McNamara Memorial Fund.

Bob was born May, 9, 1950 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Robert M. and Marcia (Elefson) McNamara. He attended school in Mason City and graduated in 1969. He entered into the army and served from 1969 until 1972, spending a period of that time in Korea. After returning from the service, he drove truck for Clear Lake Bakery, Nieman Farms and also IMT in Garner. He was in the trucking industry until an accident forced him to retire. Bob enjoyed working on cars, horses and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and cared for him.

Bob is survived by his significant other, Deanna Robbins; daughter-in-law, Tracey McNamara; daughter, Jillian Logston; grandchildren, Dakota and Montana McNamara, Evan and Mikaylah Logston; mother, Marcia Pietersen; siblings, Larry G. McNamara and wife Linda, Vicki Knudtson and husband Gary, Kim Brian McNamara, and Ann Jones and husband Bob; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and special grandchildren Damian, Dominic and Dillon. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert McNamara Sr., and son Deon McNamara; step-father, Francis Pietersen.

Major Erickson Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
