Fort Dodge Messenger, IowaWEBSTER CITY, IA- Charles Cramer, 91, of Webster City, formerly of Blairsburg, died Wednesday, January, 6th at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 11th at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 10th from 2-4 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Charles Raymond Cramer, the son of Ernest and Jennie Cleo (Chapman) Cramer was born on December 22, 1918 on a farm north of Blairsburg. He attended rural school and graduated from Blairsburg in 1935. On July 1, 1943 Charles was united in marriage to Helen Lucile Woodard of Webster City. Charles served his country being inducted into the Infantry on February 17, 1945. He left for Italy on Dec.6, 1945 and served there until his honorable discharge. In March of 1947, he and his wife moved to the Wright County farm where he lived for 53 years. During his career of more than 50 years of farming, he raised hogs, chickens, cattle, oats, hay, corn, and soybeans. In 2000 he moved to Crestview Senior Living where he has resided for the past nine years.
Mr. Cramer is survived by his wife, Helen, daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Kent Larson of Webster City, granddaughter, Lisa Larson of Webster City; brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Mae Etta Cramer of Clarion, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Clara and Henry Brain, sister-in-law Joan Woodard of Webster City, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a long time member of Asbury United Methodist. Memorials may be directed to the Asbury United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
