CLARION - Lida Iola Mack was born in Hamilton County, Iowa on 29 December, 1914. She was the daughter of Gale and Carrie May Bickford. She lived with her family at Amboy, Minnesota from 1916 to 1926. They moved back to Webster City, and she graduated from Webster City High School. She worked in the office at McMurray Hatchery for a number of years. She married Harold Mack of Clarion, Iowa on March 3, 1948. They lived and farmed four miles northwest of Clarion for many years. In 1981, they retired from farming and built a home in Clarion. She was an active member of the Clarion Church of Christ.

Lida passed away quietly on 30 December, 2009 at Careage of Clarion at the age of 95. She is survived by her two sons, Stanley (Jane) of Eugene, OR and Tracy (Beth) of Carlock, IL, grandchildren Melissa of Oakland, CA, David of Eugene, OR, Peter of Portland, OR, Travis of Springfield, MO, and Whitney, Carson, and Mercer of Carlock, IL, and great granddaughter, Olivia of Eugene, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Lyle and Neil Bickford of Webster City, IA, and her husband Harold. Lida and Harold were married for 56 years until his death in 2004. Services will be held at a later date to be announced followed by burial at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion is in charge of the arrangements.
