Aileen Jacobson Olson, aged 99, died at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village on Nov. 16, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Wood Dale Community Church, 206 N. Wood Dale Rd., Wood Dale, IL 60191. Pastor Linda Deming will preside at the service.

Aileen was born on her family's farm near Dows, IA, on Oct. 23, 1910. She trained as a nurse in Des Moines, IA, and later moved to Chicago to work at Cook County Hospital. In Chicago, she met Roy Olson and they married in 1937. Aileen worked as the school nurse at Elmwood Park High School for many years, and after retiring, she and her husband moved to Wood Dale where she lived until her death. She was a long time member of Medinah Country Club and enjoyed golf, bowling and bridge.

Aileen is survived by her eldest son Allan Olson, and his wife, Susanne, of Los Angeles, CA, her younger son Dennis Olson, and his wife, Sandra, of Mt, Pleasant, MI, and their son, Mark Olson of Traverse City, MI; she is also survived by her nieces, Kay Shannon and husband Roger, of Oak Lawn, IL, and Jan Schreiner and husband Pete, of Port Charlotte, FL; in addition, niece Jennifer (Gary) Priebe of Algona, IA, and nephew Richard (Jayne) Hahne of Webster City, IA; also many cousins; great nieces and nephews; and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1980; and by her sisters, Merna Krebbs, Louise Hahne, Billy Roberts, Mildred Rogers and brother George (Stubb) Jacobson; also preceded by her brother-in-law Arthur(Lilian) Olson; nephew, Fred (Kathy) Hahne; and sister-in-law Astrid (PJ) Morey.
