David Ray Allen, 81, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services for David Ray Allen will be 1:30 pm Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Bethel Baptist Church, 1206 Cedar Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls. Burial will be at the Northlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Iowa Falls.

David Ray Allen was born November 15, 1928 at Rowan, Iowa, the son of Otis Alvin and Caroline [Gerald] Allen. He attended rural country schools graduating the 8th grade in 1943. Ray was farm hand, carpenter, truck driver, and heavy equipment operator, being last employed by Welden Brothers Construction, Iowa Falls. He was united in marriage to Connie J. Groff on December 3, 1980. He was member of the Bethel Baptist Church, Iowa Falls.

David Ray Allen is survived by his wife: Connie Allen of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his children: Mark [Darla] Allen of Maryland, Ronald [Carol] Allen of Popejoy, Iowa, Boyd [Paula] Allen of Alden, Iowa, Jeff [Candi] Allen of McKinney, Texas, Jayme [Christi] Allen of Ames, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and one sister: Mary Banner of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents: Otis and Caroline Allen; a son: David Allen; a grandson: Jason Allen; 4 sisters: Dorothy Allen, Neva Banner, Florence DeVore, Alice Vanderwerf; and two brothers: Otis "Jr." Allen, and his twin brother: Eugene "Faye" Allen.
