Wilma Emily Hurd, age 91, of Alden, died on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Alden with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Popejoy. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at the Surls Funeral Home in Alden.

Wilma Emily Hurd was born on June 7, 1918 in Canada, the daughter of George and Nora Kelly. Wilma was united in marriage to Donald Hurd on November 11, 1937 in Montana. She was a member of the Oak Hill Cemetery Society and Oakland Friendly Club. She attended the Popejoy Methodist Church and was a friend of the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her two daughters, Frances Jondall and her husband Gene of Alden and Fonda Hickethier of Alden; two sons, Lloyd Hurd and his wife, Jan of Alden and Robert Hurd and his wife, LouAnn of Indianola; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Hurd of Yuma, AZ; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Georgia and Ron Snyder of Deer Park, WA, Lovie Bailey of Polson, MT, and Leah and Calvin Galloway of Kalispell, MT.; and a brother-in-law, Gene and Virginia Hurd of Alden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; a son, Edward; a grandson, Scott Hurd; a great-grandson, P.J. Jondall; a son-in-law, Marlyn Hickethier; a sister, Glenna Strong; and four brothers, Glen, Clell, John, and Leo Kelly.
