Funeral services were held May 12, for Merrill B. Quire, a Lynnville native who was living in Redlands, Calif. A retired Minneapolis & St. Louis railroad freight agent, Mr. Quire was a life member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers, and had been active in both the Kanawha, Ia., and Minneapolis Masonic Lodges.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lela M. Quire; two daughters, Miss Marian Quire of Los Angeles and Mrs. C.H. Merchant of Redlands; and four grandchildren, Steven and David Merchant of San Jose and Philip and Marilee Merchant of Redlands. Also surviving are a brother, Charles Quire of Albuquerque, and three sisters, Miss Della Quire, Mrs. A.L. Lundquist and Mrs. James Reagen, both of Grinnell.
The Rev. H. Mike Fink, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated at the May 12 services, held at the Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial chapel in Redlands. Interment was in Hillside Memorial Park, with graveside services conducted by Redlands Lodge 300 F. & A.M.
