Mrs. Frank Freerksen, 78, of Britt, Iowa, passed away very suddenly at her home last Saturday, October 27, 1951. Funeral services were held in Britt on Wednesday morning and from the Ebenezer Presbyterian church in George, Iowa, in the afternoon. She is survived by her husband and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Freerksen and her former husband, the late Louis Beldt, operated a pool hall in George a number of years ago. Mrs. Freerk Freerksen, nee Rena Ubbinga, daughter of Klaus and Jennie (Jansen) Ubbinga, was born in Germany on December 26, 1872 and came to this country at the age of nine years. On October 12, 1892, she was united in marriage to Louis B. Beldt, who preceded her in death about 13 years ago. She spent most of her life in this community. On October 9, 1946, she married Freerk T. Freerksen, of Kanawha, Iowa, and for the last five and one-half years they have resided in Britt, Iowa. Having been preceded in death by her parents, first husband and four sisters, Mrs. Freerksen suffered a heart attack on Saturday evening at 9 o’clock, and passed away within a few minutes, reaching the age of 78 years and 10 months. She leaves to mourn her husband, six step-children, and a number of nieces and nephews, besides other relatives and friends.Lyon County News, Iowa
