Donabelle Insko Kohlwes Houser, 85, of Lincoln, died Friday (11-6-09). Donabelle was born November 23, 1923 in Vincent, Iowa. Donabelle taught grade school in Kossouth County Schools, Fenton, Humbolt and Belmond community schools in Iowa prior to moving to Illinois in 1966, where she taught grade school at Loves Park, Ill. for 20 years. Since moving to Lincoln in 2003, Donabelle enjoyed attending South Gate United Methodist Church, participating in Strands of Love, playing bridge and spending time with her neighbors and friends. The greatest joy in her life was the time that she spent with her family.

Survived by daughter, Loveda Mitchell and husband Keith, of Lincoln, Neb.; son, Robert Kohlwes and wife Carla, of Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

Services Tuesday 2 p.m., First United Methodist Church 201 East Nebraska Street Algona, Iowa. Burial, East Lawn Cemetery Algona, Iowa. Memorials in lieu of flowers to South Gate United Methodist Church Lincoln, Neb.; or Village of Roscoe Parks Roscoe, Ill., or donor's choice. Arrangements by Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home.
