Jean Rosemary Stepp, 93, died April 2, 2009 at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, Calif. following a brief illness. She was born in Woolstock, Iowa on Sept. 11, 1915, the daughter of Ralph and Beatrice (Hagar) Frank. She resided in Des Moines, and Chicago, Ill., before moving to Webster City where she attended junior college and worked for Northwestern Bell as an operator. She was a member of the Congregational Church. She married George T. Stepp on Aug. 30, 1940 in Des Moines. They resided in Webster City until 1966 before relocating to Oceanside, Calif. Upon George's death in 2001, she moved to San Diego.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Ralph Frank Jr. She is survived by her three children who were with her at her time of death; Sally Stark and husband Carl of San Diego; George T. Stepp Jr. and wife Mary of Parkville, MO., and Susan Childress and husband Bill of Dallas, Texas; She is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for this summer at Fort Rosecrans in Point Loma, Calif.
