Loretta B. McClernon, 87, was called home to Heaven and the embrace of loving family members on December 27, 2005. Loretta was born in Belmond, IA on January 26, 1918. While a child, Loretta moved with her family to Streator, IL. After graduating from Streator High School, she worked in Chicago, and then relocated to Phoenix in 1961. Loretta worked as an Executive Secretary in the home office of First Interstate Bank of Arizona until her retirement in 1983. Loretta enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S., Mexico and Canada. She was active with a variety of community organizations and was a devout member of the Catholic Church. Loretta was a dear and loyal friend to many. Loretta is survived by one brother, Raymond (Kathy) McClernon of Lee's Summit, MO, as well as 13 nieces and nephews whom she loved as if they were her own children. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Annie (Noonan) McClernon, her brothers Francis, Patrick, and Donald, as well as her sister, Helen Frandsen. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 10815 N. 35th Ave., Phoenix on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 10 am. Loretta will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers , it is requested that donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society 420 W Watkins St., Phoenix, AZ 85003.
