Richard E. (Dick) Rossow I, 61, of Fort Dodge, died Oct. 1, 2006, at his home with his family at his side. Services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Family interment services will be held at a later date in the Colfax Township Cemetery near Vincent. The visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Richard is survived by his wife (Karen) Kae; his sons, Rick (Jody) Rossow, Vincent; Thomas Rossow and Jim (Nancy) Rossow, Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren, Eric, Lindsey, Laura, Ryan, Jessica, Jennifer and Amber Nikki; four sisters, Marlys Smith, Fort Dodge; Dorothy Irwin, Chicago, IL; Carol Massoglia, Tucson, AZ; Phyllis Priest, Silver City, NM; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Rosetta Blanshan and family, Rogers, AK; and Ed and Marsha Finch, Waverly, IA. He was preceded in death by his son Robert, his parents, and his siblings, Harold, Duane, Clarine and Charles.

Richard Emery Rossow, the son of Hugo and Viola (Rasmann) Rossow, was born Feb. 19, 1945, in Fort Dodge. He lived in Vincent and Fort Dodge and attended Fort Dodge schools. On Aug. 3, 1964, he was united in marriage to (Karen) Kae Finch, in Fort Dodge. Dick was employed at Rossow Implement and then was service manager for 23 years at Humboldt Implement. For 20 years, he owned and operated Rossow Repair. Richard will be remembered for the joy and love he received from his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
