Arthur G. "Bud" Quick, 84, of Fort Dodge, died on Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at Trinity Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006, at 10:30am at St. John's Lutheran Church near Vincent with the Rev. Bill Van Nostrand officiating. Burial will be in Colfax Township Cemetery near Vincent with Military Graveside Rites. Friends may call from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Friday at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. Survivors include- his wife Evelyn, sons- Steven of Wilmington, NC, and Gregory of Marion, 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters- Marie Mills of Humboldt and Evelyn Willey of Livermore, and a brother- Elmer of Horseshoe Bend, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Printhia Beatrice Lutz Quick, and a son Michael.
Arthur Gilbert Quick was born on May 22, 1922, in Fort Dodge. He attended schools graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High School. In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during WWII in Africa, France, Italy, and Germany, serving until his honorable discharge in 1945. On February 2, 1947, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Telschaw at St. John's Lutheran Church. Bud managed the meat locker in Thor for several years. The couple farmed in Iowa and Minnesota for several years before moving to Arizona where he worked construction for 8 years. The couple returned to Vincent in 1969. Bud worked for Woodruff Evans Construction Company until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the V.F.W. Post 1856 and the American Legion. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
