HUMBOLDT, IA-- John W. Nesbitt, 65, of Humboldt, passed away March 27, 2008 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 31 at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home with the Rev. Aaron Flatau officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt.

Mr. Nesbitt is survived by his wife, Marlys of Humboldt; son, Michael of Ogden; sisters-in-law, Joann Hammitt of Lehigh and Janet Dencklau of Fort Dodge; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; half brother, Earl Nesbitt; half sister and brother-in-law Vina (Frank) Egan; and brothers-in-law, Orville Hammitt and Charles Dencklau.

John W. Nesbitt was born July 4, 1942 to John and Bernice (Franzeen) Nesbitt at Harcourt, IA. He was raised at Harcourt and attended the Harcourt Consolidated School system. On January 27, 1962 he was united in marriage to Marlys Dencklau at St. John's Lutheran Church in Vincent, IA. John and Marlys made their home in Lanyon, IA before moving to Humboldt in 1965. John worked for Longworth Implement in Harcourt, Carlson Implement/ K.C. Nielsen Implement in Humboldt before starting his own welding repair shop in 1994. He retired in 2006. John was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, he enjoyed car and go-cart races as well as camping.
