Catherine Miller, 90, of Zearing, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Jan. 22, 1996, in Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Zearing, after a brief illness. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Central Park Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Phillip Windsor. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are with Fredregill Funeral Home, Zearing.

Survivors include two daughters, Sally Hornbeck and husband Jon of Cedar Rapids and Sandra Landis of Nevada, Iowa; and a son, Dr. William G. Miller and wife Dr. Barbara Benton of Story City. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and their families, which include 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George, who died in 1988; two brothers, Charles J. and William H. Clark; a sister, Margaret White; a daughter, Suzanne Marshall; and two infant grandsons, Mark Landis and David Marshall.

Catherine was born June 16, 1905, in Clarion, the daughter of William and Nora Clark. She married George Miller on Aug. 31, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, where they made their home much of their married life. She taught school in Toddville prior to her marriage. She also worked for many years at Guaranty Bank and Trust Co., where she retired in 1967. She was an active member of Central Park Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Central Park Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids.
