The Rev. Norris L. Wogen, 82, of 190 Cottage Grove Ave. SE, died Friday, May 20, 1994, in his home after a brief illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, First Lutheran Church, by the Rev. Kay Slocum. Burial: 4 p.m. Monday, Corinth Cemetery, near Humboldt. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Merna; a son, John of Olin; a daughter, Carol Hill of Lee's Summit, Mo.; and three sisters, Stella Burke of Humboldt, Lillie Slattum of Kensett and Charlotte Tweed of Joice. Also surviving are four grandchildren.

The Rev. Wogen was born May 20, 1912, in Humboldt, the son of Lars and Mary Thompson Wogen. He graduated from high school in Humboldt; Waldorf Junior College, Forest City; St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn.; and Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. He married Merna J. Tipton on Nov. 26, 1937, in Baxter. The Rev. Wogen served as a chaplain in the Army after World War II in Germany, and later served parishes in Tracy, Minn., Kanawha, and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Upon retirement, he was an evangelist at meetings in parishes, prayer groups and at Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowships across the United States and Canada. He also held several Holy Spirit Conferences. A memorial fund has been established.
