Osmund Knutson Ljosland
2 December 1895 -- July 1973Services for Osmund Knutson, 77, 508 S. 19th St., Fort Dodge, will be 3:30 P.M. Monday at Bruce Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Norlin, assistant pastor of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. A graveside flag presentation will be made by the American Legion. Mr. Knutson died Friday at Veterans Hospital, Des Moines. He had been in failing health for the past several years, and had been a patient at the hospital since June 7. Surviving are the widow, Sevina:
sons, Arthur K., Lorimor; Robert L., and Raymond L., both of Fort Dodge; Merle L., Minneapolis, Minn.; daughters, Mrs. Clara Van Hoff and Mrs. Luella Duffin, both of Fort Dodge; Mrs. Marion Clare, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister in Norway. Mr. Knutson was born and educated in Norway. At the age of 17, he came to the United States and lived in Illinois. Later he moved to Bode, where he lived until entering the U.S. Army in World War I. Following Mr. Knutson's return from the service, he farmed in the Thor and Hardy area. In 1927, he married Miss Sevina Hanson in Eagle Grove. The couple retired from farming about 17 years ago, and moved into Fort Dodge. He was a member of American Legion Post 130.Fort Dodge Messenger, Iowa
