Funeral services for Mrs. Fred (Mary) Klinger were held at the McVille Lutheran Church, McVille, on Friday morning September 11, 1981. Grave side services were held at the Buffalo Cemetery rural Buffalo, Friday afternoon. Officiating was the Rev. Steven Hanson. Soloist was Norman Berg and organist Mrs. Linda Loe. Mrs. Klinger was born at Belmond, IA. February 14, 1897, daughter of Charles and Mary Pommerer. She moved to Tower City with her parents in the early 1900's settling on a farm south of Tower City where she grew up. She married Fred W. Klinger, Sept. 22, 1918, at Fargo. After their marriage they farmed, moving to Fingal in 1941 and then to McVille in 1948. Mrs Klinger was a member of the McVille Lutheran Church, the McVille Homemakers Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She had been a resident ot the McVille Friendship Manor since 1977, where she passed away, Sept. 8 at the age of 84 years. Surviving members of the family are her husband, Fred, McVille; four sons, Roy, Thompson; Aylmer, Jacksonville, FL; Dale, Oriska, and Clyde, Billings, MT.; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.Mrs. Klinger was preceded in death by her parents, on daughter, one sister, and five brothers. Casket bearers were James Klinger, Gary Klinger, David Klinger, Roy Klinger, Jr., Hal Klinger, and Kenneth Klinger. The family considered all friends present honorary casket bearers.
