Patricia Jane Ruigh, 73, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, died Tuesday, May 23, 1995, at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 27, at First United Methodist Church, Iowa Falls, with the Rev. David Dailey officiating. Interment was at Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Patricia was born Nov. 1, 1921 in Clear Lake, the daughter of Earl Willson and Gretchen Wolfe. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1940. Patricia graduated from Coe College with a music degree and taught music at Thornton Schools. She also taught private music lessons. On March 29, 1947, she married Donald Ruigh [of Meservey], in Mason City.

Patricia was a member of ETUDE, Parchment, United Methodist Women, the library board, hospital guild and worship committee. She was on the cover of School Musician Magazine when she was National Trombone Champion. She was the church organist for 25 years, and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Iowa Falls. Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Donald, Iowa Falls; two sons, Dale E. Ruigh and his wife, Cindy, Ames, Iowa, and David D. Ruigh and his wife, Susan, Farmington, Conn.; two daughters, Mary J. Mittelstadt and her husband, Mark, East Windsor, N.J., and Patricia S. Scott and her husband, Patrick, Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Joyce Jungjohann, Savanah, Ill.; four grandchildren, Matt and Brent Mittelstadt, and Katie Ruigh and Stephen Ruigh. She was preceded in death by her parents.
