Eliza A. HUGHES was born in Gallia County, Ohio, October 7, 1851. She was married to January 1, 1873 to JAMES S. STRINGFELLOW. To this union were born eleven children. All grew to adulthood except one, Lenora Merle, who died in infancy. Those surviving are: Mrs Jennie A. CUNNINGHAM of Clearwater, Laura E. THOMPSON of Randolph, Nannette V. WIEST [later of Eagle Grove, Iowa] of Oakdale, Edna B STRINGFELLOW of Oakdale, Charles E STRINGFELLOW of Vancouver, Washington, William F STRINGFELLOW of Arlington, J. Irving STRINGFELLOW of Oakdale, Austin J STRINGFELLOW of Lovalton, California, Leroy W STRINGFELLOW of Boston, Massachusetts, and Clarence D STRINGFELLOW of Oakdale. She came to Antelope County in 1884. They moved to Oakdale in 1902. She died at a Tilden hospital on October 2, 1912. Her remains were laid to rest in the Oakdale Cemetery on October 5, by Rev. G. W. SYNDER.
