Robert Arthur Griese Sr., 71, formerly of Austin, died May 29, 2003, at his home in Milwaukee, Wis. He was born June 19, 1931, to Anna (Cramer) Griese in Austin. He grew up in Austin and joined the army at the age of 16 years. He married Charlene Williams on June 27, 1951, in Petaluma, Calif. He is survived six sons: Robert Jr. (Roberta), Kirby (Jill), Kenneth (Sharon), Duane, Charles (Doreen), Jonathan (Cheryl), all of Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Harlan (MaryJo) Griese, Austin; four sisters: Laurabel (William) Taster,[Tasler?], Stewartville; Judith (Franklin) Goertz, Rochester; Janice (Roger) Jorgenson, Austin; Patricia (James) Crofoot, Oronoco; and best friend, Jeanette Henning, Milwaukee, Wis. He was preceded in death by his mother, wife, two grandchildren and two brothers. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Service: 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
