March 22, 1909 -- April 21, 2002

Anna Griese, 93, of Austin, Minnesota died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at St. Marks Lutheran Home. She was born March 22, 1909, in Dows, Iowa, to Charles and Pauline (Christopherson) Cramer. She graduated from Belmond, Iowa High School on May 29, 1929. She worked as a housekeeper, a cook at the Chandell Drive-In and Bob's Drive-In and, for 23 years, worked as a nursing assistant at Raymonds/Burr Oak Manor Nursing Home. She retired at age 74. She enjoyed going on trips with friends, putting puzzles together, playing aggravation and weekend visits to Rochester. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Laurabel "Lou" and William Tasler, Stewartville; Judith and Franklin Goertz, Rochester; Janice and Roger Jorgenson, Austin; Patricia and James Crofoot, Oronoco; sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Griese, Sr., Milwaukee, Wis.; Harlan "Butch" and Mary Jo Griese, Austin; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Wallace Cramer, Belmond, Iowa; sister, Lucille Cramer, Belmond, Iowa. She was preceded in death by sons, James and Arlo; three great-grandsons; a daughter-in-law; four sisters.

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m., today, April 23, 2002, at the funeral home and at the church on Wednesday for one hour before the service.
Service: 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Stohlmann officiating. Organist will be Robert Goetz and soloist will be Karla Sellers. Casket Bearers will be Robert Griese, Jr., Arthur Hall, Jr., Scott Griese, Rodney Goertz, Kurtis Jorgenson and James Crofoot, Jr. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Austin. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary, Austin, MN.
