March 23, 1883 -- March 22, 1958

Richard N. Bell, son of Thomas and Betty Anderson Bell, was born March 23, 1883, at Mt. Sherman, Ky., where he grew to manhood. He was married to Fannie Pruitt on December 21, 1900 and going then to Princeton, Ill., started farming. Two sons, Guy and Glenn were born to this union and in March 1910, the family moved to Aurelia, Iowa and continued farming there until the fall of 1926, when they moved to Fort Dodge, entering into the farm implement business. His wife preceded him in death, October 29, 1929. In 1931 he disposed of the implement business and moved to Clarion and engaged in farm machinery and implement repair. On December 18, 1941, he was united in marriage to Fern Peddle and lived in the Belmond-Rowan community until his death, March 22, 1958, missing his 75th birthday by just one day. Two brothers, Nathan and Charles, and two sisters, Ludy and Sally Ann preceded him in death. He leaves his wife, Fern, two sons, Guy, his wife and daughter, Sandra of Holland, Mich.; Glen, his wife and three children, Glenn Jr., Nadine, and Marlene of Yuba City, Calif. Two step-daughters, Mrs. Hubert Tudor, her husband and two children, Betty and Clebert of Nebo, Mo., and Mrs. Lloyd Lockman, her husband and two children, Judy and Sherry of Rowan. Three brothers, Emmett of Tonyville, Ky., Grover of Aurelia, Iowa, Flint of Amboy, Ill., two sisters, Chrissie Davis of San Antonio, Tex., and Rachel Ragland of Mt. Sherman, Ky., and also many relatives, neighbors, and friends who will mourn his passing. Out of town relatives attending the funeral for Dick Bell were: Glen R. Bell of Yuba City, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Guy E. Bell of Halland, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. H.D. Tudor and family of Nebo, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Grover Bell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bell of Aurelia, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Flint Bell of Amboy, Ill., Mrs. Charlie Bell of Wyanet, Ill., Merle Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Bell, Daryl Bell and Henry Wathen of Princeton, Ill., Doris Bell of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Brandt of Primghar, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Julius Christeansen of Alta, Ia., and Donald Bell of Buda, Ill.
