Dorothy L. Napoletano, 81, of Rochester, Minnesota, formerly Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at the Good Samaritan Bethany Heights, Rochester, Minnesota. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 10:30 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, Iowa with Rev. Jon Seda officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel,126 3rd St. N.E. Mason City, Iowa. A Catholic Daughters of America Rosary will be at 5:00 PM and a scriptural wake service at 7:00 PM.
Dorothy was born June 22, 1924 in Rolfe, Iowa the daughter of John and Lydia (Reetz) DeWall. She attended thru her junior year at Rolfe and graduated from Kanawha High School in 1941. She then attended Hamilton Business College. Dorothy worked for State Brand Creamery in Mason City, until she married Luigi Napoletano Oct. 10, 1945 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City. She was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and P.T.A. at Madison while her children were growing up. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework, and sewing and was an excellent seamstress. Dorothy was very active in her church and was a member of St. Veronica’s Circle and was an active member of Catholic Daughters of America for over thirty years. She worked as a volunteer in the Gift Shop at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa from 1977-2000 and in 1997 she was recognized for twenty years of service as a volunteer and in 1998 she was recognized for fifty one hundred hours of volunteer work. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Mason City, American Legion Auxiliary for thirty one years and Catholic Daughter of America.
She is survived by her three children Mark Napoletano and his wife Mary, Rochester, Minnesota, Karen Beyer and her husband Allen, Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Denise Pedelty and her husband Sid, Rochester, Minnesota; five grandchildren Scot Napoletano and his wife Catherine, Lusby, Maryland, Gina Clinger and her husband Dan, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Sarah Napoletano, Rochester, Minnesota, Jason Beyer and his wife Jodi, Lacrosse, Wisconsin and Karmen Frana and her husband Drew, Oronoco, Minnesota; one great-granddaughter Autumn Beyer; one sister Lorraine Coulson and her husband William, Eau Claire, Wisconsin and two sister-in-laws Rose Kendrick, Katy, Texas and Bonnie DeWall, Mason City, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Luigi, 1999 and a brother Donald DeWall. Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. Mason City, Iowa.
